Hello, I was involved in a accident where I was underinsured and the other persons uninsured motorist insurance paid out on the accident and now a third party debt collector is contacting me to try to collect on what their insurance paid out despite I had no say in it. What is the statue of limitations in FL regarding this tort debt? I have spoken to several attorneys but each person has told me a different SOL. Many have said 5 years from date of accident, some have said 1 year from date of uninsured motorist check cashed and I was told 4 years from the date of the accident. Most have said 5 years from date of accident. Does solo suit know the correct answer on this?

Unfortunately, we would not know about this. If you have case/civil/docket number with a name of the court, then we would advise you to call the court listed on the documents and they can provide you with this answer and guidance regarding the accident insurance.
