Civil suit

Hello I have been getting calls about a pay day collection. When I answered they said it was a mediator trying to collect before sending it to court. I asked for a verification of debt but what they sent me looked like something they typed up right there and then. No original creditor or signatures. I looked up the letter head company nothing pulls up for them not even the number or address. Just looking for guidance is this a scam or will I have to worry about being sued and should settle ?

You can call the court clerk to see if anything is on file with the courts. If so, then it means there is a debt lawsuit against you..

This all just happened yesterday when they called and I asked for validation and the rep got upset and told me to go to court and she wasn’t dealing with me and my questions anymore. The debt she said went default in 2017 and in Texas the statue of limitations is 4 years so I just don’t know what to do. The courts would not have anything yet if this happen yesterday?
