My friend just got a letter from her seasonal employer for a garnishment of wages. The debt judgement was March 26, 2013 for $14,360. The seasonal job is only for 2 summer months and about $18/hr. Why did the debt collector just now notified her of this? Isn't the statue of limitations over? What can she do? If they garnish her wages, it won't make any sense and take about 30 years for the amount to be paid off based on her salary.. She has a very low income.
