I am disputing Midland Funding because I am being charged for a
medical credit card that I believe was fraudulently opened under my name
with the wrong birthday month of mine. It was opened in 2015 and
charged off in 2017. After collecting the information from them, I told
them that I would like to dispute this and that I might speak to a
lawyer. However, a letter from them was sent to my Arizona address on
file stating that I told them that I will be having a lawyer handle this
for me, which I did not say. Please advise. Regards.

SoloSuit provides the documents you need to get this resolved.
If this is pre-lawsuit, you can send them our Debt Validation Letter. The Debt Validation Letter cites the FDCPA and requests the collector show proof you owe the debt. It sounds like you may already have done that. If they send you information on the debt but you still don't think it's your debt you can notify them of this in writing. You can also threaten to sue them for violating the FDCPA, $1k for each violation.
If you're being sued for the debt, you can respond with our Answer and then settle with our Debt Lawsuit Settlement Letter.
In regards to the letter they sent you erroneously stating you're having a lawyer handle this for you, I'm not sure what if anything you'd need to do about that.
